Mt Tawa in Mourning

Recently two young men from Mt Tawa village died when they were away from the village. Their bodies were flown back to Mt Tawa on an MAF flight. The village went into deep mourning as soon as the bodies arrived. The caskets were taken to two separate Men's House in the village. They mourned all night over the caskets and buried the bodies the next day, which is their custom. The family of the two men that passed away will continue to be in a time of mourning for at least 2 weeks. This is the first time something like this has happened in Mt Tawa village, where 2 bodies have been flown into the village on one day and on one flight.
